Scholarship Application and Criteria

HQC Memorial Scholarship Education Fund 

The scholarship was funded initially by memorial gifts in honor of member and past club President Julie Schroder. The purpose of this scholarship is to offset for club members the cost of registration fees to attend non-club classes/workshops and share information learned.

Details/Eligibility

Two scholarships for a maximum of $50 each will be awarded each fall and each spring.

Applicants who have been members of the Henrietta Quilt Club for at least one year are eligible to apply.

Members are eligible to receive one scholarship per calendar year.

Scholarship recipients agree to share information on techniques learned during a HQC club meeting or a Sit & Sew or to conduct a class during a Sit & Sew.

Note: No patterns or handouts with copyright restrictions are to be copied and distributed to club members unless written permission has been granted by the author.

The officers  can present a change to these rules at any time to the club. Members are free to suggest any changes and all changes will be voted on by the club members.

Future Funding

Future memorial donations to HQC on behalf of deceased members will be added to this fund if the family has not otherwise designated a use.

A minimum of 25% of funds raised from HQC fabric/notions auction sales will be added to this fund.  Book and magazine sales will be added to the general treasury.

Approval Committee

The HQC officers will review applications, determine eligibility and notify the scholarship recipients.  This will be done by pulling names out of a hat if more than two eligible people apply each time.

The HQC Program Committee will work with scholarship recipients to schedule program time and/or a Sit & Sew class.

HOC Memorial Education Scholarship Fund was established to off-set the cost of registration fees to attend non-club classes/workshops and share information learned. Scholarship applicants are required to complete and submit this scholarship application form for review and consideration by the Board of Directors, If selected, recipients are asked to share information on techniques learned in the class/workshop during a HQC club meeting or Sit & Sew or conduct a class during a Sit & Sew.
