Minutes from the October 17th Business Meeting
Attendance: 47 members in attendance, 1 guest and 1 new member was welcomed.
Minutes from the 9/5/2023 meeting were approved.
October Birthdays were recognized.
Treasurer: Cathy F. reported the balance. Scholarships are still available; 2 have been issued to members. Four are still available. Members are encouraged to apply. The required form and guidelines are on line.
Membership: No report.

Books Magazines and Fabric: A larger assortment of magazines referencing table toppers and Christmas projects were made available today. More books are to come at future meetings.
Comfort Quilts: 12 quilts were collected today for donation 26 quilts were donated to Coldwater Women and Children Residential Home. Stuffed animals and comfort quilts are still welcome for donation.

Program: The completed October project to embellish a set of 2 dish towels were presented. Photos will be on the website.
Peggy D. gave a demo of the cathedral window block and the remarkable heritage project she is working on currently.

10/31/23 11:00 AM Book Pillow Class by Pat W. at Jackie Lynn’s – requires 3 – 18” squares, see the website for supply details. Completed pillows are to be donated to Bivona C.A.C. Supply a book to donate with the completed pillow. Deadline for donation is at the December 5th meeting.Monthly Project: completed projects earn ½ yard fabric from the fabric basket. Fall table runner (or placemat/wall-hanging) “A Splash of Color” – pattern on website due at Nov.14 meeting. Christmas table runner (or placemat/wall-hanging). Find a pattern that includes wrapped gift blocks. Due at Dec. 5 meeting
Challenges:- 2 color quilt/ project due June 4, 2024 -Panel Challenge for donation to Bivona CAC due June 2024
Retreat: Oct. 2, 3 and 4 at Notre Dame Retreat House in Canandaigua was attended by 21 members on Day 1 and 25 on Day 2. Notre Dame under new management was very accommodating. The new showers and menu provided by the new chef were particularly enjoyed.
Future Retreat Dates: April 29,30 & May 1- 2024. Oct. 21 to 23 – 2024. April 28 to 30- 2025.
Holiday Luncheon: will be held at the RIT Inn & Conference Center on 12/12/2023 at 11:30 AM $20.00 (HQC is partially subsidizing lunch and dessert). Sign up list was passed around today and will be available at the next meeting on Nov. 14 and Dec. 5.
Holiday Donation: A generous donation of items today for Open Door Mission. Maggie M. will deliver 10 boxes and 4 bags.
In addition, the completed book pillows with books will be donated to Bivona C.A.C. Deadline for donation is at the December 5th meeting.
Sit and Sews / Meetings etc: Sit & Sews at the Town Hall are free; Jackie Lynn’s when available for $5.00 per person. Remaining dates through Dec. are:
