Minutes from 4/9/2024 were accepted with no changes.
Announcements: A member has stepped forward to accept the position of president as of June 2024. She will be formally introduced at the next business meeting.
The positions of Program/Project Coordinator (2 people) are still open. The current coordinators have several projects in que and ready to pass to new coordinators. Please contact Carol M. or Ruth M. if interested for position description.
Also open are Book/Magazine Coordinator, Fabric Coordinator positions. Please see Sarah G. or Audrey R. if interested for position description.
Picnic is scheduled for June 11 at the Town Hall at 11:15. The kitchen facilities are limited. This year the HQC will provide beverages and dessert (cupcakes from Cheesy Eddie’s). Please bring your lunch and place setting.
Donations of fabric to be offered at the picnic are being accepted until May 28. Please measure and label any donated fabric.

Books, Magazines, & Fabric: An assortment of books & magazines were available. Donations for these three items help support the club as we generate no income and membership fees are insufficient to cover annual expenses. Please consider selecting some items offered.
Comfort Quilts: 5 quilts were collected. Labels are available from Carol M or Marlene C.
Sunshine: Please notify Zoe S. if you know a member who would appreciate support.
Program: Completed Paper Pieced Bird House projects were displayed. Photo is on the website. Raffle tickets for the 2024 Genesee Valley Quiltfest Garden quilt were drawn for members completing the project.
Sit and Sew on May 14 at Henrietta Town Hall will include a tote bag class by Heidi from Fluffy’s Quilt Shop. Sign up list was passed today. Information and supplies list are on the Project page of the HQC website.
Sit and Sew is also available at Jackie Lynn’s-$5 fee.
Show & Tell: Suspended this week to accommodate the presenter.
Presentation: Karen Miller of Red Bird Quilt Company spoke about her career in quilting. She presented a trunk show of quilt projects and her designs and she shared a wealth of information regarding free motion quilting, quilting thread and applique etc… She has a blog, tutorials and “Quilt Along” projects available on her website: https://redbirdquiltco.com/
