A thank you note was received from Teresa House Hospice in appreciation for the club’s donation to the in memory of Joan W.
Treasurer: Cathy F. reported the balance. Scholarships are still available; members are encouraged to apply. The required form is on line.
Membership: 72 members. Membership dues for the next term will be accepted up until the picnic.
Website: The website is updated regularly. The current schedule is on the “Meeting Date” page. If your email has changed or is not in the directory, please notify Lynda D.
Picnic June 13, 2023: Sign-up sheets were passed for food to bring and volunteers for day of picnic.
The location is Bushman Cabin – Henrietta Town Park. Silent fabric auction starts at 12:00pm, luncheon to follow. Bring a dish to share and your own place setting.
Books, Magazines and Fabric: Printed materials and fabric and some unfinished projects were offered to members today. Contributions are still being accepted. Fabric will not be available again until the picnic.
Comfort Quilts: 10 quilts went to Open Door Mission. An email was received expressing gratitude from the women and children residence.
Flannel squares and unfinished quilt pieces were distributed to members to sew into strips to be used in comfort quilts.
Retreat: The recent retreat was well attended (27 total members) and there were no cancellations. Future retreat dates are Oct 2-4, 2023; April 29 – May1, 2024, Oct 21-23, 2024. Notre Dame Retreat House will be under new management as of August 2023. There will be building improvements and a new chef.
Program: At the June 6th meeting the show and tell will be the completed challenges that are due – one color project – Mystery Quilt – Fat 8th Frenzy – casserole carrier with pocket.
The next challenge is an Ohio Star project to create your own banner, placemats, or other items. Instructions and suggestions are on the website.
On 5/16/23 Mary R. will present a demo on applique flowers and perhaps show some of her projects.
Members were invited to present a favorite notion and tell why. Some of the items were- Martelli rotary cutter, Guidelines ruler, Wonder Clips, Kwik Klip safety pin closer, Seam ripper/ stiletto, Strip Stick ironing tool, friction pens, magnetic needle minder
Sit and Sews: Sit & Sews at the Town Hall are free, Jackie Lynns is available for a fee of $5.00 per person the next one is on May 9.

Perinton Quilt Guild – Sisters in Stitching Quilt Show May 6, 2023, 9am – 4pm, Perinton Community Center, 1350 Turk Hill Road, Fairport.
Aurora Sewing Center in Victor opened May 1. The grand opening week will include sales, classes and demos.

There will be no Business meeting on July 4 or July 18.
The next Business Meeting will be held June 6, 2023 at the Henrietta Library.
