Membership:  No report

Treasurer: Cathy F. gave the account balance. There are no outstanding bills.

Scholarships are still available. Members are encouraged to apply. The required form and guidelines are online. Scholarship recipients agree to share information on techniques learned during an HQC meeting.

Website: No report.

Comfort Quilts: Carol M. reports 149 quilts, 35 pillows, and a bag of stuffed animals donated by our generous club members in 6 months from 6/2024 to 12/2024. In the year 6/2023 through 5/2024, members donated 155 quilts.

There are 18 quilts and 18 home décor items on hand

Labels are still available. 

2 Comfort quilts were collected today. See photo on website. 

Books, Magazines:  A “Last Chance” assortment was made available today. Kathy R. invites suggestions for where to donate these items. Suggestions of Genesee Valley Quilt Club and Building Community with Quilts were offered.

Fabrics: No report

Retreat: Chris B. passed a sign-up list for the next retreat 4/28-4/30/2025.  Please reserve and pay by 4/1/2025.

1 Night – Single $125, or Double Shared $110, or Double Alone $155

2 nights –Single $240, or Double Shared $ 210, or Double Alone $300

All 3 meals and NO Room $70

One-day attendance with lunch is $35. 

Sunshine: A note of encouragement was sent to Judy D. after her difficulties from an injury.

Holiday Luncheon:  The December luncheon was enjoyed by members who attended and included a visit from “Santa Z.” Jane M. has agreed to coordinate the luncheon again for 2025.

Program:  

UFO Project launched today. If you have not attended or did not bring the required form and cash, bring your first UFO to the February meeting. 

  1. Please print off a form from the website
  2. List 5 UFO Projects, bring five $1 bills (first one is due in Feb)
  3. Dollars are returned once projects are completed.

Four projects are due in June: Block of the Month, Paint Chip Challenge, Fall Project—pumpkin wall hanging, and Winter Project—snow man wall hanging. The patterns and instructions are on the website. 

January 21st Kawandi demo By Cathy F. in the Henrietta Library Community Room at 1:00. Attend to watch and learn or bring supplies listed on the website to start your own Kawandi project.

January 28   Sit & Sew and class at the Henrietta Library Community Room. Jean M passed a sign-up sheet for the 12:30 PM Casserole Carrier Class. The supplies list is online. No Town Hall Sit&Sew this day. Sit & Sew at Jackie Lynn’s ($5 fee applies)

Sunshine Committee: No report

New Business: Julie C. reports that the seasonal library display was removed today with appreciation from the library. Thanks go out to Mary R., Audrey R., Jane M., Lyn S., Cathy F and Maggie M. for their contributions to the display.

A guest (Christina) attended today who offered that her late mother was an accomplished quilter and fiber crafter. She has a large collection that she is willing to display to the members. Linda S. will be in contact with her to discuss the possibility of a trunk show.

Sit & Sews Town Hall Sit & Sews are reserved through April on the 2nd & 4th Tuesdays for the Henrietta Sit & Sew 10:30 – 2:30. Except on 1/28/25 – no Town Hall Sit&Sew that day.

Show & Tell:  Completed projects were presented by members. Photos are on the website.
