Minutes from the 1/17/2023 meeting were approved.
January and February birthdays were recognized.
Treasurer: Cathy F. reported the balance. Scholarships are still available. The required form is on line.
Membership: Membership coordinator positions are open for the term starting June 2023. This is a one or two person position.
Website: No report.
Comfort Quilts: A letter of appreciation was received from Catholic Family Center for the comfort quilts received in December.
4.5 inch flannel squares were distributed at the last meeting and some were returned today
assembled into strips. The remainder of the squares were distributed today. Please return them ASAP assembled into strips of alternating squares. Once completed they will be small receiving blankets for teen mothers.
Program:
40 stuffed animals were collected today for donation to children in crisis at Bivona Child Advocacy Center. See picture on the website. Bunny and cat templates were shared at the meeting to be made into more ‘stuffies’ of any design from scrap fabric or blocks for future donations. Instructions are on the website.
The monthly project is a birdhouse table runner due in April. Pattern is on the website.
On 3/21/23 Jackie V, will present a demo on making borders from scrap fabric.
On 5/16/23 Mary R. will present a demo on applique flowers and perhaps show some of her projects.
The Program Committee would like suggestions for programs in 2024. Please submit your ideas on the index cars distributed or email one of the coordinators, Carol M. or Ruth M. – email addresses are in your directory.
Sit and Sews: Jackie Lynns is available through Feb. and March for a fee of $5.00 per person. Sit & Sews at the Town Hall are free on Feb.14, Feb. 28, March 14, March 28 and April 25.
Books, Magazines and Fabric: Printed materials and fabric were offered to members today.
Picnic 2023: A Coordinator for the picnic is still needed. Kathy R. has agreed to assist. If a picnic is cancelled due to lack of coordinator a fabric sale alone will take place.
Show and Tell: Members presented quilts recently completed; photos are on the website.
There will be no Business meeting on July 4 or July 18.
The Feb. 21 st program meeting will be game day with chocolate at the Library.
The next Business Meeting will be held March 7, 2023 at the Henrietta Library.
The Library is not available for the April 4 th business meeting. The meeting is moved to 4/11/23. An updated schedule through June was circulated.
