Minutes December 3, 2024

Attendance: 41 members in attendance and no guests.

Minutes: from 11/05/2024 require correction to retreat dates. The retreat is April 28-30, 2025.

Membership:  Correction to the directory was distributed today. For Program Committee, Linda S. replaced Carol M.

Treasurer: Cathy F. gave account balance. A donation for the Holiday Charity was given to the Red Cross for Western North Carolina hurricane relief. Also, the donation in memory of Marsha G.  was acknowledged by Jacke V. her aunt, with much appreciation.

Scholarships are still available. Members are encouraged to apply. The required form and guidelines are on line. Scholarship recipients agree to share information on techniques learned during a HQC meeting.

Website: No report.

Comfort Quilts:  29 quilts went to Bivona and 15 to Strong Memorial Hospital’s NICU. Labels are still available. 

4 Comfort quilts were collected today. See photo on website. 

Books, Magazines:  An assortment was made available today. Free will donations for these items are collected each time and will be donated to the library at the end of the year. 

Fabrics: A scrap exchange took place at the previous meeting. Leftovers were donated to an Amish group in Penn Yan and to The Village Quilt Shop in Webster where volunteers square up scraps and send them to Honduras. There will be another scrap exchange in the spring.

Retreat: The next 4 retreats have been booked for 2025 and 2026. As of April, the fees have changed. 1 night $125, 2 nights $240 single or $210 double. One day attendance with lunch is $35.

Holiday Luncheon:  Jane M. is still taking reservations today for the December 10th event. At the luncheon there will be a gift exchange (bring a gift and receive a gift), games and caroling.   Contact Jane M. for more information: Janemalone1958@gmail.com

Henrietta Quilt Club: 2024 Christmas/Holiday Luncheon

December 10, 11:30 a.m., Lunch at Noon

RIT Inn & Conference Center, 5257 West Henrietta Rd., corner of Brooks Rd.

Program:  Potholder Swap took place today. Those who participated placed potholders in sealed brown bag and then swapped among members. 

4 projects are due in June -Block of the Month,  Paint Chip Challenge, Fall Project – pumpkin wall hanging and Winter Project – snow man wall hanging. The patterns and instructions are one the website. 

January 7th UFO Project launch at the business meeting. 

  1. Please print off a form from the website
  2. List 5 UFO Projects, bring five $1 bills (first one is due in Feb)
  3. Dollars are returned once projects are completed.

January 21st Kaiwandi demo By Cathy F. in the Henrietta Library Community Room. 

January 28 Sit & Sew Town Hall & Jackie Lynn’s. Casserole Carrier Class by Jean M. at Library Community Room. The supplies list is on line.

Sunshine Committee: No report

New Business: Lynn K. has been storing the supplies and equipment from the last quilt show at the old library. She is no longer able to store the quilt racks and miscellaneous items. Peggy D. has volunteered to hold these items with the help of Beth D. transporting.

Donna G. expressed interest in revisiting the idea of another Quilt Show. Cathy F. will approach the director of the Rush library to investigate further. 

Show & Tell:  Completed projects were presented by members. Photos are on the website. 

Julie C. and Mary R. and other volunteers decorated library display case for the season.
