Treasurer: Peggy D. was not present but reported the proceeds from the June picnic auction gave the account balance. From the account balance batting was purchased for comfort quilts, the deposit for the Holiday Lunch was made and a donation to the Henrietta Library was made.

Comfort Quilts: 21 Comfort Quilts were collected today. Labels are available. Chris B. will distribute batting for comfort quilts. Please advise her of the size of the batting needed for your comfort quilt and she will deliver it at the following sit and sew of business meeting.
Retreat: Chris B. passed a sign-up sheet for the upcoming retreat; Oct 10,2026 through October 21, 2026. Reserve for 1 night, 2 nights (single room or double) or 1 day with lunch. Details are on the website. Payment is due by October 6. 2026.

Fabric Sales: The committee is seeking a co-coordinator to work alongside Maria H. Additionally, as Maria will be out on temporary medical leave, Joyce J. will be managing fabric donations during her absence. We look forward to welcoming Maria back upon her recovery.
Books, Magazines and Patterns: were made available today. Kathy R offered a selection of “last chance” books and patterns today. Any left from this collection will be donated. Newer items were also offered today and will again be offered at future meetings.
Holiday Charity: Jean O asks that members consider volunteering to chair this committee. charity.
Holiday Luncheon: We are confirmed 12/8/2026 at 11:30 at RIT Inn and Conference Center-Cayuga Room, 5257 W. Henrietta Rd. Details to follow.

Fluffy’s Quilt Patch Plus in Canandaigua is going out of business and will be having discounts through Thanksgiving.
New Business: Ruth M. requests donations of bed sheets to be used for charity quilt backing for her church group. Sheets should be prints or colors. No white sheets please.

9/22/26 Jackie Lynn’s in Irondequoit is having a Shop Hop for HQC members with 20% discount from 10:00 AM -1:00 PM. There will also be a demo.
10/6/26 Business meeting with hand quilting Demo
10/13/26 Demo Derby at Jackie Lynn’s.
The first 6 blocks of the Stars and Stripes Block of The Month are available on our website. As new blocks are released, they will be posted. Batting will be provided by the club.; we need to provide the completed top and backing, then they will be donated to the Quilts of Valor Foundation. QOVF will quilt the quilts for us.
Seasonal projects are due by season (due dates are noted on the calendar), completed projects earn a fat quarter of fabric.
The Fall Project – Woven Table Mat was demo’d by Janey M. Instructions are on the website. The project is due Dec. 1.
