HENRIETTA QUILT CLUB

Membership: No report
Treasurer: Cathy F. gave the account balance. There are no outstanding bills.
Scholarships are still available. Members are encouraged to apply. The required form and guidelines are online. Scholarship recipients agree to share information on techniques learned during an HQC meeting.
Website: A new page has been added to the website for “Favorite Online Shops”. Please look at it and send any additional shops that you are familiar with to henriettaquiltclub@gmail.com
Comfort Quilts: 9 Comfort Quilts were received today. Labels are still available.
Books, Magazines: Kathy R. displayed a “Last Chance” assortment, which was made available today. If you have any books, patterns, magazines that you would like to donate, please give to Kathy R.
Fabrics: No report
Retreat: Chris B. passed a sign-up list for the next retreat 4/28-4/30/2025. Please reserve and pay by 4/1/2025. Contact Chris swimweb1b@gmail.com with any questions. Details are on the HQC website.
Sunshine: no report
Program: Linda S. handed out a survey to be completed by the next business meeting. This is to help determine from members any preferences or suggestions for future projects. Completed surveys will be collected by the April 1st meeting.
She reminds members that the big reveal of our monthly projects are due in June: Block of the Month, Paint Chip Challenge, Fall Project—pumpkin wall hanging, Spring- Etchings Tulips Pillow and Winter Project—snowman wall hanging. The patterns and instructions are on the website.
There are 13 participants in the UFO project. Members brought completed UFOs to Show and Tell.
Due to inclement weather and a low attendance at the Barn Quilt presentation, they have agreed to present it again on April 1st. If there is interest, Paula will set up a class for our group.
Spring Monthly Project is a tulip table runner or bench pillow. Instructions are on the HQC website. https://henriettaquiltclub.org/projectinformation/
Program Change: The folded star class will still be on May 20th but the time has changed to 9 – 1 to accommodate the library.
Ruth M introduced a new charity, Sleep in Heavenly Peace https://shpbeds.org/ They provide complete beds for children that are sleeping on the floor. The Avon Rotary has suggested that we donate quilts for a twin bed, 60 x 80 or larger, and pillowcases. All agreed this was a good idea. Ruth will collect anything that you would like to donate.
Holiday Charity – We are still looking for a chairperson. Once we get a chairperson, that person and the committee will choose the organization(s). Two organizations have been suggested: Common Ground Health https://www.commongroundhealth.org/ and Sleep in Heavenly Peace https://shpbeds.org/.
Holiday Luncheon – Jane M has volunteered to chair this committee. She has sought out several different places and could not find anything that would compare to the pricing at the RIT Inn and Conference Center. They have agreed to keep the pricing the same for the 2025 Holiday Party. A $250 deposit was required to reserve the room for December 9, 2025.

Fantastic Four Shop Hop – Fluffy’s, Jackie Lynn’s, Sadies, and The Village Quilt Shop April 3, 4, and 5th. Details on HQC website.
Picnic – Diana P. has volunteered to be chairperson for the picnic. The Bushman cabin has been reserved for June 10th. Linda S has arranged this with no charge. It will be a bring a dish to pass, your own place setting. Beverages will be provided.
Show & Tell: Completed projects were presented by members. Photos are on the website.
Next Meeting: 3/18/25 Program Mtg. game day with chocolate and Show & Tell at the Library.

April 15th – Shop Hop to Chestnut Bay 10am, followed by lunch at Tom Wahl’s if you choose to go.
