Minutes April 7, 2026
Attendance: 34 members in attendance, includes one new member.
Minutes: from 3/3/2026 approved.
New Business: Peggy D. shared that a member of the Irondequoit Quilt Club made a request to display their raffle quilt at the library during our upcoming meeting, where they also intend to sell raffle tickets. Henrietta Library protocol does not allow for sales at the library. The issue will be deferred to the library by the Irondequoit club.
Treasurer: Peggy D. gave the account balance.
Scholarships are still available. The required form and guidelines are online. Scholarship recipients agree to share information on techniques learned during an HQC meeting.
Website: Lynda D. reports that the website is up to date. Project information is available there.
Comfort Quilts: Carol M. reported that Caring Choices received a donation of Comfort Quilts. Hillside Children’s Center will be the next recipient. 12 quilts were collected today and one home dec. item.
At the 3/3/2026 meeting 11 Comfort Quilts were collected.
Diane D. has volunteered to co-chair the Comfort Quilt Committee.
Retreat: Chris B. collected fees for the upcoming retreat April 20-22, 2026. The final number of registered members is due today. Five new members will be attending. Details are on the website.
Sunshine Committee: No report
Books, Magazines: No report
Fabric Sales: Joyce J. and Zoe S. are ready to accept fabric of minimum ¼ yard for the June picnic and sale. Please measure and label fabric. April scrap exchangewas held today. Coordinators are needed for the next term starting July 2026. Please consider filling the position.
Holiday Luncheon: We are confirmed 12/8/2026 at 11:30 at RIT Inn and Conference Center-Cayuga Room, 5257 W. Henrietta Rd.
Sit & Sews: Julie C. reports Tuesday 4/14, Henrietta’s Sit & Sew is at the Town Hall from 10:30-2:30 and at Jackie Lynn’s from 11:00 to 4:00 ($5 fee applies).
Tuesday during retreat, 4/21, the Henrietta Sit & Sew has space for 10 in the Gabaldon Rm at the Library from 11:30 – 3:00. Chris B. will check re: Jackie Lynne’s for that date.
4/28, Sit & Sew is at Jackie Lynn’s only. Nothing is reserved in Henrietta.
Picnic: Maria H. reports that the picnic is scheduled for June 9, 2026. Bushman Cabin is reserved. A sign-up sheet was passed today. Please bring a dish to pass and your own place setting. Water will be provided.
New Business: Jean O. has volunteered to continue in the position of President for another term. Vice President position is available. Also needed are coordinators for Fabric Sales.
Program: Jean thanks Julie C. for her trunk show on 3/17/26. It was a successful spotlight of her talents.
Linda S. reminds members that the completed Queen Bee Groups projects are due in June.
The third completed UFO’s were presented. There are 2 months remaining. She also reminds members that the seasonal projects are due in June. See the website for other future programs.
On May 19, 2026 club members are invited to an exclusive Chestnut Bay Shop Hop at 262 North St, Caledonia, NY 14423. Meet at the shop at 10:00AM for 20% discount. Afterwards members may meet at Tom Whal’s in Avon.
Membership: Paula R. is resigning her position and will be relocating after today’s meeting. The club members wish her well in her new home and appreciate her service to membership. Laurie A. has agreed to finish the term alone and requests a co-chair starting the next term.
Sales Etc.: During the NEW YORK STATE SHOP HOP in May and June, Chestnut Bay has Extended hours – Wednesdays and Thursdays 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Nicole at Jackie Lynn’s has a longarm shop called Lucy Bird Quilting. She offers a discount to anyone mentioning their membership in Henrietta Quilt Club during Shop Hop days.
