Red, White and Blue Table Runner
54” X 12”
White fabric: Cut 3 2 ½” WOF
Red fabric: Cut 4 2 ½” WOF
Red fabric Cut 2 pieces 6” by 13”
Blue Cut 1 2 ½” WOF
Sew Strip set of R, W, R, W, R, W, R Sub cut into 6 12” pieces.
Sew pieces in a stager look. There is red overhang that will be trimmed.
Add the blue fabric sewn across the strip set.
Add the red pieces to the end.
Place table runner face down on to the backing and sew around edges leaving an opening so you can turn this face out. Top stitch to close the edge to close the opening.
For my quilting: I traced 2 different size stars on to my table runner and sewed them with a long stitch in white thread. The photo runner is longer than the runner in the given directions.
I did not add batting or a binding as I like my runners to be flat. You certainly can do this if you wish. Also make it any size you wish and feel free to change the pattern. You are very creative quilters.
FYI There will not be a May monthly project. My reason is to give you time to complete the two challenges due June 4th. The first is the panel challenge which we hope you will donate to comfort quilts thou it is not necessary. The second is a two-color project: quilt, wall hanging, tote, whatever.
