Attendance: 36 members in attendance.
Minutes: from 5/5/2026 approved.
Membership: dues were collected for the upcoming fiscal year. Photographs of members were taken for the 2026-2028 directory.
Treasurer: Peggy D. gave the account balance and shared the finalized budget revisions. The budget was approved by unanimous vote and will be emailed to members.
The annual donation of proceeds from sales of books and magazines to the Henrietta Library will be presented at the end of this month.
Comfort Quilts: 33 Comfort Quilts were collected today and 5 home decor items. 98 quilts, 9 crayon bags, 11 burp cloths, 3 pillowcases and various home décor items have been donated this year. Recipients were Bivona, Caring Choices, Coldwater Shelter, Ronald McDonald House and Strong Memorial Hospital NICU. There are 92 quilts and 5 table toppers on hand. Total of donations from members is 191.
Monica M. will co-chair the Comfort Quilt Committee with Diane D for the next 2-year term. Labels are available.
Historian: No Report
Retreat: Chris B. presented a comfort quilt pieced at the retreat April 20-22, 2026 and later completed by members. A sign up will be passed around at the picnic for the upcoming retreat; dates are reserved through Oct 2028. Details are on the website.
Sunshine Committee: No report
Books, Magazines: were made available today. Kathy R encourages members to choose some materials from those offered. Materials left over from the previous offering were donated to AmVets and happily received. More will be available in the fall. Kathy R will continue as Coordinator.
Sit & Sews: Chris B. reports Sit & Sew at Jackie Lynn’s from 6/16/26, 6/23/26, 6/30/26, 7/07/26, 7/28/26, 8/11/26 and 8/25/26from 11:00 to 4:00 ($5 fee applies). There will be quilters stash estate sale at Jackie Lynn’s the week of 7/14/26.
Julie C. reports Henrietta Library Sit & Sews June 16, 23, & 30**Special time 12-3:30pm in the 2nd floor Agatha Christie Rm accommodates 10 people.
Also Sit & Sews at the Town Hall 7/14/26, 7/28/26, 8/11/26 and 8/25/26 from 10-2:30 pm.
Fabric Sales: Joyce J. and Zoe S. have requested volunteers to arrive at 9:30 AM on the day of the picnic to set up tables for the silent fabric auction. They also seek the loan of additional
folding tables to assist with our auction setup.
There will be additional items to bid on ie: cutting matts, machine attachments and rulers etc.. Bids start at 75¢ for Fat Quarters, $3/yard for larger pieces.
Coordinators are needed for the next term starting July 2026. Please consider filling the position.
Picnic: Maria H. reminds members that the picnic is scheduled for June 9, 2026 at 11:30. Bushman Cabin is reserved. Please bring a dish to pass and your own place setting. Water will be provided many thanks to Maria H.
Program: Appreciation is expressed for the work of Linda S., Donna G. and Chris B for their work providing programs this year. The end of the year projects were all presented including UFO’s, Queen Bee projects, Fat Quarter Challenge and the seasonal projects. Photos will be added to the website. The completed Queen Bee projects will be donated to Comfort Quilts. Ruth M. won the ‘kitty’ from the UFO challenge.
Susan S. and Donna G. will fill the coordinator positions going forward. They are asking members to complete a questionnaire at the picnic regarding interests and suggestions for programs in the next club term.
New Business:
-Vice President position is available. Also needed is a coordinator for Fabric Sales. Please consider stepping forward.
-Two informal get together picnics are planned for the summer months. Tues 7/21/26 and Tues 8/18/26 at 11:00AM Meet up at Veteran’s Memorial Park Henrietta outdoors adjacent to Bushman Cabin. Bring lunch and chair to the gathering.
-Three of our HQC members had quilts on display at the Genesee Valley Quilt Fest in the members judges quilts show. 4 by Beth D., 2 by Donna G. and 1 by Ann D. Donna G. won Third Place in the Pieced, Single Maker category.
-Chestnut Bay Quilt Shop has on line Facebook Live Friday frolics. Register in your FB account.
-The All New York Shop Hop continues.
-The Irondequoit Quilt Club will hold 2026 Festival of Quilts, September 26, 2026, 9 AM to 3 PM

-Sarah G. is collecting donations for an art teacher’s classroom. She will accept bags of fabric scraps, batting and polyfill of any size and any art supply at all, paints, markers etc.
