Meeting Minutes February 3, 2026
Attendance: 36 members in attendance
Minutes: from 1/6 /2026 approved.
Treasurer: Peggy D. gave the account balance. Expenses for Comfort Quilt batting and postage stamps were paid. There are no outstanding bills. Scholarships are still available. The required form and guidelines are online. Scholarship recipients
agree to share information on techniques learned during an HQC meeting.
Website: Lynda D. asks that members refer to the website for any changes in meeting times and
location.
Comfort Quilts: No Report. 2 quilts were collected today.
Retreat: Chris B. announced the next retreat is April 20-22, 2026. Registration sign-up sheet was passed today. Details are on the website.
Sunshine Committee: Zoe S. will send a ‘thinking of you’ card to Patty Z. once her address is available.
Books, Magazines: Kathy R. offered a selection of ‘last chance’ books and other printed materials that will be donated after today.
Fabric Sales: Joyce J. asks that members save fabric donations until the April scrap exchange.
Holiday Charity: Jean M. read a Thank You letter received from Foodlink Rochester for donations of food and cash in December.
Holiday Luncheon: Prior to the meeting call to order, Jane M. extended thanks to Ruth M. and Pat W. for the 2025 Christmas ornament party favors and to Kathleen G. for the table toppers at the 2025 luncheon. We are confirmed 12/8/2026 at 11:30 at RIT Inn and Conference Center-Cayuga Room, 5257 W. Henrietta Rd.
Sit & Sews Linda S. reports that Jackie Lynne’s. Sit and Sews are scheduled 2/17, 2/24, 3/24 & 3/31 from 11:00 to 4:00 ($5 fee applies). Julie C. reports 2/17 S&S at Diana Gabaldon Room at the Library and 2/24 at the Town Hall.
Picnic: Maria H. has volunteered to coordinate this year. The picnic is scheduled for June 9, 2026. Bushman Cabin is reserved.
New Business: Volunteers are still needed for President and Vice President, Program Committee Coordinator and 2 committee members, Fabric Sales and 1 more for Comfort Quilt Coordinator (to partner with Monica M.) for the next term starting July 1, 2026. Contact Jean O. to volunteer.
Program: Jean thanks those who demo’ d the rulers at the last program meeting.
Game Day with chocolate will be held 2/10/26 in the Library at the regular meeting time.
Linda S. initiated the first week of the UFO project. The first completed UFO’s were presented. She also reminds members to continue to work on the fall. winter and Spring projects due in June. See the website for other future programs.
3/10/26 Chris B. will give a Braided table runner class in the Library from 12:30-3:00. Supply list is on the website.
3/17/26 Program Meeting at the Library NEW TIME: 12:00pm – 2:00pm Julie C Trunk Show.
The Queen Bee Groups met today to turn in month four blocks and discuss their blocks assembly and plan going forward. Finished quilt from the blocks for donation will be due at the Business Meeting in June.
Sales Etc.: The Fantastic Four Shop Hop 3/19, 3/20 & 3/21. Demos and prizes 15% off all bolted quilting fabric. Fluffy’s Quilt Patch Plus; Jackie Lynne’s Fabric Center; Sadie Quilts; The Village Quilt Shoppe LLC
Sew Creative in Fairport is having a 20% off quilting cotton and some machines until Feb 7.
Chestnut Bay in Caledonia has a live Face Book event called Friday Frolic. Register on FB at 7PM on Friday 2/6/26 for prizes and on-line orders.
